2010 NEWS & RELEASE SCHEDULE

2009 came to be the most successful year for Viper Recordings to date, dropping huge cuts such as the 'ShockOne’ EP, not to mention the 'Acts Of Mad Men' LP which went on to become Radio1’s ‘Album of the Week’ as well as ‘Album of the Month’ in Mixmag. Not ones to rest on our laurels, 2010 is shaping up to be even bigger and badder for the Viper crew with even more massive projects currently in the works!

The first release of the year couldn’t have been any bigger than DC Breaks - ‘Halo EP’ which has been hammered by EVERY DJ worth his salt. To list everyone playing it would be take up the rest of the page, so suffice to say when you have the likes of Futurebound, Shimon, Andy C, Friction, and Chase & Status consistently dropping multiple tunes from the EP, you’ve got a hit on your hands! The EP has also gained over 50 plays on various Radio1 shows alone, with every tune from the EP getting rinsed by various hosts.

Hot on the heels of this is the new Headroom EP part’s 3 & 4, in which Futurebound has stitched together another series of killer cuts. Part 3 leads off with Delta Heavy’s dancefloor destroyer ‘Abort’, then followed up by Futurebound’s own tearing VIP of the Matrix & Futurebound classic ‘The Edge’. InsideInfo starts things off on Part 4 with his ultra cheeky stomper ‘Awkward’, as well as the aptly named, funk-fuelled killer ‘Chic’, which pits Futurebound vs. Camo & Krooked in a heavyweight collaboration!

2010 will also see the debut of Viper Digital, a digital-only label for Viper to release exclusive cuts from the Viper family and beyond. The label kicks off with a bang with the ‘Drum & Bass Summer Slammers 2010’ album which will feature 20 killer cuts from the Viper catalogue, including new exclusive tunes from DisasZt & Shimon, Metrik, Furlonge, Uman, The Prototypes, L-Plus, Genetic Bros., and L.A.O.S., along with Viper classics from Matrix & Futurebound, DC Breaks, Nero, Camo & Krooked, ShockOne, J Majik & Wickaman, and many more! The album will be lead by a vinyl sampler of the single DisasZt & Shimon – ‘Rumours’ (feat. MC Coppa), backed with Metrik – ‘Lightspeed’.

2010 is also set to be a breakthrough year for Viper’s latest prodigy, Furlonge, as he is set to step up to the plate with his debut 12” single on Viper’s main label. Following up on last years hit ‘Task Master’ from the Acts of Mad Men LP and his recent collaboration on Ram Records alongside Culture Shock with ‘Surprise’, Furlonge shows why he is going to be a mighty force to be reckoned with over the coming years as he drops his huge vocal hit ‘This Love’. This one is hotly tipped for big things in and outside the genre so… watch.. this.. space! Switch to ‘Duel’ which flips the script to some trademark Furlonge-funk.

Continuing the pressure, Viper sees another massive EP from ShockOne who drops the ‘Polygon EP’ featuring 3 new remixes of last years seminal hit ‘Polygon’ including ShockOne’s own monster VIP as well as the gargantuan Dirtyphonics remix which has ANTHEM stamped all over it! Ram Records star Culture Shock delivers a sick and cheeky electro house version. ShockOne also delivers one of his most anticipated tunes to date with the Godzilla-like remix of ‘Chronic VIP’ with the unmistakable sounds of MC Spyda turning this one into an absolute dancefloor destroyer. To cap things off perfectly Shocker’s Australian partner in crime, Phetsta brings the goods with his filthy dubstep rework of ‘True Believer’, taking this monster track to another level. To say this EP is an essential for your collection would not do it justice!

Moving into the Autumn, Camo & Krooked drop their ‘Pulse of Time’ EP which contains four cuts of the highest order, with ‘Feel Your Pulse’, ‘Shoreless’, ‘Cliffhanger’, and ‘Reality’, making this another all-killer, no-filler release from Viper. Camo & Krooked have been two of the most prolific producers in recent memory, with a seemingly endless amount of new dubplates in their arsenal and have given a new definition to the term “breakthrough producers”.

But it doesn’t stop there as this November sees Metrik drop his debut EP, including the NASA shuttle-launch-like rave bomb, 'The Departure', as well as the sublime sounds of, 'Arrival'. Metrik’s debut EP will be his most accomplished work to date as his strict studio lockdown this year has culminated in a body of work that will further solidify his range and eclectic taste across the styles of drum & bass. Expect to hear some more surprises as Metrik steps up his game even further through 2010 and beyond.

Finally, for the grand finale of 2010, Matrix & Futurebound will deliver their eagerly awaited 2nd LP as the follow-up to 2007s highly acclaimed ‘Universal Truth’. After being on remix duty for most of 2009 for the likes of Moby, Snap, Ian Carey, Agent X, and Lazee, Matrix & Futurebound have been eager to get back onto their own trademark cinematic dancefloor sound which they are world renowned for. Before the year is out you can also expect to see Futurebound’s highly anticipated remix of Sasha’s all-time trance classic ‘Xpander’. Keep your eyes and ears peeled, more details on this to follow…

With that being said, Viper Recordings is proud to announce their newest signing, Slovenia’s Luka Per aka Smooth. Smooth made his Viper debut last year on the ‘Acts Of Mad Men’ album with his “smooth” liquid track ‘Under The Moon’. He followed this up with his debut single on Viper VIP with ‘7th Sense’ / ‘Squirm’. Smooth also goes by the alias of Telekinesis with his partner Markoman and this pseudonym represents the darker, techy dnb side of his game. Watch out for their debut single on Breed 12 Inches label, along with forthcoming tunes on Bad Taste Recordings, and of course Viper.

And finally, Viper*Recordings is proud to announce the 2nd event of their new bi-monthly London club night @ The*Lightbox.*With the launch night in April being a mighty success, the Viper crew are back on 10th July 2010 with and an equally killer line-up. DJ’s on the night include: Futurebound, DJ Fresh, DC Breaks, Sigma, Furlonge, InsideInfo, Delta Heavy, Mr. Brown, and MC SAS.

Holy moly! Viper is such a good label, it's actually hurts! Massive massive news. Got the brightest future of all labels!

I've been playing it loads, must be true.

Please elaborate on the release date of Furlonge - This Love.

I want this tune in my life.
Claiming release dates months ahead never works out well (see Lil Wayne lol) so lets just say forthcoming in the fall, he's still nailing the mix ;)

need to put clips up on soundcloud!!
But then everyone would claim they're waiting too long :P We do a good job of keeping tunes fresh by not whoring them out a year before release date :D
