Picking cartridges?

I know there are already threads about this, most saying Stanton Diablos, Shure M447's, and Ortofons are the best carts, but I can't really nail down what the pros and cons of each cart are. I'm looking to spend $100-150 USD for a pair. Could anyone help me out or at least direct me to a source of info? I've never bought cartridges before so I'm quite clueless.

Get some Shure M35Xs, they are cheap and sound excellent.

Ive got a pair of Ortofon OM DJ S and they are amazing. Sound good and really rugged.

Yeah they fit on nicely. All tools needed are included (mini screwdriver) from what I remember.

Yeah. People who think they sound good haven't heard anything better. The M35X does sound better.

i have had most of them, and shure win everytime, by far the best sound. you just need to set your arms right or they will sound naff
