virus and a mic how do i .....

this has probably come up alot but i cannot get my mic to work through my virus is there a simple and easy way about it the info is really rubbish on the net

I might be able to help - I'm using a TI. What Virus do you have?

Basically, I run my MIC into the virus and have set up a "patch" just for my vocals - so I don't need to keep adjusting the Virus every time I lay down Vox. I just boost the signal in the EQ (the gain - in the Lo, Mid and Hi) in the FX section and it comes out through the DAW when it's set to External in.

There might be a better way that someone here might know, but it's worked out pretty well for me so far.

Presumably your using a Dynamic MIC - so it's pretty much as I was saying earlier. MIC goes directly into your Virus input. Depending on your DAW activate your "external in" and that's basically it (just up the levels in the FX section).
