It’s autumn, and what better way to kick off the school year than with an introductory course in Violence? If you missed any of the singles, now’s your chance to get to know the faculty.
Label principal Hive teams up with long-time partner Gridlok for a punishing lesson in dance floor science. The elemental mixes with the astringent and the synthesis is archetypal Violence: deadly.
Label stalwart Echo delivers a compelling lecture in the art of the remix, repainting Tinfed’s rock and roll colors with the hues of drum and bass. Echo’s canvas stretches across the horizon, encompassing the lyrical and the brutal with an added dose of bounce. Guest vocals by Chino of the Deftones sweeten the picture.
Third up, associate professors Kaos & Expanse bring you an exhaustive lesson in physical education, with a pounding amen roller that sprints straight and true. A mix of the traditional and new, this tune applies winning pressure.
Closing out the day, guest lecturers Fierce & Keaton rework the syllabus on Hive & Juju’s original. The result is dark and foreboding, with lumbering drums and a low, moaning bass driving the tune forward through a haze of atmosphere and effects.
Promos out THIS WEEK.
