With some careful processing a shit load better than I thought it would, here's a few I made in about 10 minutes in Logic's ES2

For the best results reinforce with some kick samples.

Both the kick and snare in this track of mine were synthesized in logic's ES2 and then layered with a few kick/snare samples.

cant listen as I'm in work but I will definately have a gander after and try and get my head around the technique.... simple to do in reason aswell?!

Yeah Reason should have no problem. If I remember correctly Thor and subtraktor should be suited for the job.
