Incite Recordings Presents: INC003

ShockOne

Perth, Australia’s Karl Thomas and Jay Burns have been writing music together in one form or another since 1998, whether it was in their previous band or experimentation with electronic music. It wasn’t until the sounds of artists such as Bad Company and Konflict caught their ear that they ventured into Drum and Bass.

It was in 2004 when ‘Silverscreen’ debuted on dancefloors worldwide, they knew they were on to something special. By the end of the year DJ Friction had picked up the tune and its flip ‘Dropping Science’, released on Shogun Audio in early 2005. Not before long the A List DJays lined up behind the Shogun installment, stamping their approval all over dance floors worldwide. The follow up in 2006 was the dance floor killer ‘It’s On’ backed with ‘Further Away from Me’.

Since then ShockOne have been hard at work in the studio and in the clubs with several more releases lined up in the near future. Other forthcoming releases include ‘The Riddler’ due out on Andy C’s imprint, Frequency Recordings, DJ Hype snatched up ‘Crystallized’ for the Playaz label group, and of course the crowd favourite ‘Let Me Go’ on Incite Recordings.

A: Let Me Go --- (AUDIO)

‘Let Me Go’ intros with spacious pads, huge crushing drums, and a lead synth that sets a mood similar to 80’s anime. The track evolves into roaring bass, well placed synth stabs, and an array of melodic lead lines over top. An epic & musical dancefloor record that’s guaranteed to incite vibes! An example of why you’d expect no less from this Perth Duo.

AA: Frank --- (AUDIO)

‘Frank’ shows a much different side to ShockOne never displayed before. Intro entertains samples from a modern day cult classic that acts as a precursor to the dramatic drop about to unload. Rhythmic distorted basslines punch through, morph, twist, and spit their way back at you! Heavy production with tricks and suprises along the way. This one is sure to please the techier ear.
