as title peeps, free is good
If you are looking for a free compressor why not just use the one that comes with your DAW? Odds are it will be just as good or better than a free one anyways
if you want another one, WAVES C1 is great, or C4 for multiband
^^^ rough rider for some absurd over-compression and good distortion.
apart from that, what t:m said. or just get waves C1 - thats what i use anyways.
edit: haha miszt. too fast for me
for some reason the built in one in cubase crashes it and its really annoying
will try have a gander for these cheers - mainly for beefing up some precussion
lol doh, should have said C1 anyways not C2

cracked? sounds like a good reason for it to crash
go for the WAVES comp anyways, its tasty

also, you might want to consider Parallel Limiting for beefing up percussion, put it in before the compressor in the chain
cheers has waves got a tool for limiting as well?
yeah, check out the WAVES diamond and platinum bundles, fair few quid tho
Are you putting a compressor on a channel or on a bus? try sending the audio output to a bus and compressing it?
rough riders pretty good. theres shed loads of good free comps, try searching gearsutz.com
Izotope Alloy - not too sure if its free
Camel Crusher - this is free and ive known it to be useful at times for compression.
Classic Compressor is free
KOAN Sound approves.
i have rough rider too, fun little tool
I like the FabFilter stuff, not free though
psp vintage warmer 2
not free but well worth.
bumping 2011 posts should result in some sort of ban/hating?
Didn't even notice that till now
Me neither, don't know why thread from 2011 jumped on my face lol.
