Was just looking for some help really as i've started Mc'in with a mate who dj's for a laugh, if anyone had any tips or useful hints about it in general. Im not sure if there is much advice people can give but any is welcome.
Also any useful hints on what to avoid and what not to avoid, i generally like to let the tunes speak for themselves and not mc too much as i know how annoying it can get.

this and not rapping over vocals
plus try to get some original lyrics, not that ' a lot of money and bitches' kind of shit if you know what I mean
 
also dont do all the 'wagwan bare manz in de building but its really juz 2 coz we r too seriuzz'

it gets annoying man.
let the tunes speak and just spit when you feel is right.
also if you ask the dj to give you a signal when to start a 32 bar then that would help aswell
 
Use lots of cliches

Make random noises. Try barking or tweeting like a bird perhaps

Talk over vocals

Bigup your mates/area

Say bdbdbdbdbdbda & mnmnmnmnmnmna

Tell everyone how great you are

Tell everyone you've got loads of money (even if your on benefits)

Call for the rewind on every tune

Turn your mic volume all the way up

Try singing out of tune

Ask for a go on the Mic even if your not booked

Make sure you say "mic check 1,2" at every opportunity

Stick to these rules and you are certain to go far.

probably the best advice you could ask for really, couldnt of said it better myself, this technique is obv working for bigboys
 
Ignore the haters, and try to do something different. and obviously, let the music speak for its self. dont call for a rewind without askin the dj first. This really gets on my tits as a dj, cos it can kinda catch you off guard a bit if you have things planned.
