If they will do it cash on attendance for sure.
Saves thes hassle of getting your deposit back innit.

Yet they may feel more inclined to show if a down payment has been paid.

Yet your dealing with artists without the agencies so i imagine you know them personally and they won't stitch you.

So either way seems safe to me.
