TERMITE(Obscene UK)
We've got a special guest in from out of town laying it down for you. Termite is one half of the Edinburgh promoting team Obscene, as well as being one of their best loved resident djs. In February 2002 Obscene launched at La Belle Angele, Edinburgh. Responding to the lack of club nights that were pushing local talent, Obscene's first night consisted of a group of mates from Edinburgh. The night was a runaway success and went to show that Edinburgh was ready for a locally focused night. Since then Obscene has gone from strength to stength and is now on the forefront of the Scottish drum and bass scene.
Termite's style varies. Expect a mixture of everything from chilled out beats to rolling, storming, hard drum and bass. Termite knows how to judge the crowd and give them what they want. With musical influences from genres such as reggae, hip hop, and old skool, Termite has no strict style when it comes to drum and bass and will play what she likes and not what is 'in at the moment'. Termite has built up a reputation as one of Edinburgh's finest up and coming djs, and has opened for the likes of Nicky Blackmarket, Dylan, Ray Keith, Goldie, Digital, J Majik and others.
