Secondhand Mk2s in a good state and a decent new mixer with 2/3 channels from Pioneer, Vestax PLUS a CD player and you're sorted if you're beginning.

It seems you're checking the wrong places - mostly very expensive ones. Check the prices on ebay - they're a lot lower and just as reliable.
