    Sounds like when you hit the "edge" of metal around a snare with drumsticks. maybe thats gonna help you finding some samples. If you want I'll even record some samples with my drumset if you like so you can see if that fits your needs.

    yeah man, search for rimshots. Then you need to use tight EQ'ing and compression to give it that real snappy feel

    Even a normal snare with a pitch envelope, or pitched up, would do

    909 snares sound pretty decent when pitched up, cut, compressed and EQed.

    thanks all for the advices, in fact I didn't know that a rimshot would be appropriate for this.

    You can use any foley sound too for minimal stuff imo. Sometimes works better than a snare
