MIDI controller for FruityLoops...

Ok, i am thinking about getting a MIDI keyboard controller for use with FruityLoops, as i am fed up with pointing and clicking a million times, everytime i have to tweak a knob on a vst. The FL Studio manual (http://www.flstudio.com/help/html/automation_devices.htm) says that FL Studio is 100% compatible with these controllers... problem is, i am still messing around with the old 3.56 (or something) version of FruityLoops! Anyone know of compability issues with that version?

And one more thing - should i end up buying a controller, i consider getting the Korg K49. Any other/better suggestions?
 
good as anything else, i expect. great thing to have. makes such a difference with a claviature and a bunch of knobs.

on a different note, i just lost a bet, and ill be paying for drinks for the coming six months. i feel faint.
