Loomis & Jones’s new release, The Pixel Shift, represents both a change in tempo for the duo, as well as a unification of the two sides of their oeuvre, musical and visual creation. The free release is available now, and is a perfect introduction to their innovative and multi-dimensional vision.
All three tracks demonstrate a range of styles and influences, with elements of house and trance visible in the opening of Solar (Reclaim Mix), before the piece moves onto some clashing electro effects, whilst still retaining melodic touches deeper into the mix.
Working in the design world has allowed them to develop a unique perspective on music, and they have established their record label as a result of this vision. The Chillstep remix of Shoot… reveals yet another side to their musical personalities. Adding frequencies, effects and more soulful pads, the remix is more straight-ahead, whilst never losing the loose, meandering nature of the original. Beguiling, profound and relaxing in equal measure, it marks the perfect end to the release.
