does he always make sense , or does he chance it sometimes ... can someone please explain , does he just go with the metaphores and leave it to you to paint the picture ... i understnd how clever he is , but some of his stuff seems to me like arse if you focus on certain lines they just seem to mean nothing , but are ' cool ' words ... sry if this upsets people . i know some of his tracks do focus on a subject , but sometimes it sounds like hes talkin crap.

all about London city. seems to all make sense to me...

    [Verse 1:]
Air poured, my thoughts shrouded by cloud forms
The line ravaged in the wake of this ground war
    The quintessential outlaw
Eye of the storm, my tears fall as a torrential downpour
The flood, your death wish written in blood
I came in from the cold, clothes dripping with mud
Gripping a club, primitive, a stick is a dud
Swinging a punch, the bad seed pick of the bunch
I drink black rain, take another swig and I'm drunk
Taste venom on the tip of my tongue, my lips cold
Spitting out toxins I couldn't dissolve or withhold
I never sold my soul for fool's gold
So I'm still free, but too numb to feel pity
Some broke down, now the still city's a ghost town
Snowflakes cover the ground in white carpets
Seasons of espionage as time passes
The lion hearted, survival of the hardest artist
    My open arms embrace darkness
    Still craving carnage and infamy
But even parasites starve in this carcass of industry

    [Scratches]

    [Verse 2:]
You can see me as cynical, trapped in my own gothic vision
    Encapsulating chaos in this composition
Calculated like the lies of a politician
Gripping the slingshot, I size up the opposition
I drop a match in the clouds and watch the flames rise
Fire water falling from these grey skies
To paint your train lines, chrome over red brick
Reflective, like a gemstone in a cesspit
Jehst gives belief to a skeptic
The truth neglected like open wounds that turn septic
Infected by the forked tongue of a liar
Now my thoughts are the colour of fire
And my night's spent running the ?
    Unspired by the freak show
I see ghosts dance in the trail of my weed smoke
My words are folklore, that survived the Cold War
New World Order and so forth
I go north, ankle-deep in snowfall
Leaping over dry stone walls with a ?
Steam clouds rise from my fiery breath
It's the last twilight before the silence of death

fair play , what bout the insect specimen bit , i suppose its up to you to make what you will from it , jehst style i suppose ... along with other artists, chester p's very similar ... i suppose jehst is called " jehst " ( jest ) for a reason . can say stuff in jest , as in take what he says with a pinch of salt , either way you cant doubt the blokes talent , hes an amazing artist , comes out with genius material , just some of it is almost ' to ' clever for me too work out , even if i study it ... but itd be boring if the penny dropped striahgt away i suppose, so its nice when you listen to one of his tracks for the 10th time , and something makes sense that you didnt think into as much before . im a lyric fiend thats all i can say , i think deep into certain lines for a while untill i totally understand. been getting into taskforce properly recently , some people didnt like chester's from the ashes , but its a quality bit of work i rekon. big props to chessa chess boxin mastaaaaaa ...

anyone got any other suggested uk hip-hop artists to have a listen to like , taskforce and jehst .. klash is one of my favourits aswell, diffent style, mind you , i cant relate to klash as much as i can the others , but im not in london and havent had the struggle or been surrounded by shit as much.
