Off the heels of the successful mixed CD entitled TWIX: 2 N*ggas In A Mix (with over 800 distributed and it being played [streamed and/or downloaded] over 950 times within the last 2 months), DJ Jayvon and MC XYZ return to the studio to hammer out another classic mix. This time backed by The Rapture (one of the nation's largest Drum n Bass events), this CD will serve, both, as another hot mix from the duo and as an event flier (see CD print/insert/linear notes) for the upcoming Rapture (May 6, 2005 in San Diego) feat. the Planet Of The Drums(Dieselboy, Dara, AK1200 & MC J-Messinian), Jayvon -w- MC XYZ and more talent TBA.
Jayvon is known for his dance floor oriented, accessible track selection and his cutting edge technical skills in the mix. His internet mixed site has seen his mixes over the past year played (which includes downloads and/or streams) over 22,000 times. His CD, "Basswhore", has been reviewed in URB and Jointz magazines while his CD "Bubblin" won the runner up for Bedroom DJ contest. He has been a guest on both PowerTools radio (on 105.9FM aka "Power 106" for those in Los Angeles) and Groove Radio (via the internet). Not just limited to drum n bass DJn', Jayvon was the SoSo Def Turntablist Champion in 1999, his scratching abilities appeared on DJ QBerts DIY Scratching DVD Vol. 2 and his skills as a tablist have caught the ear of Def Jam Mobile (Def Jam's mobile digital entity).
MC XYZ is one of the country's hottest and skilled drum n bass MCs. He currently holds MC residencies in San Diego (for The Rapture) and Arizona (for PM Dark Productions) and is the drum n bass MC representative for Outlook Skateboards (out of Virginia). He has played with the world's best DJs at events that range from small clubs to massive raves. His talents, in just 2004, have landed him across the country from Miami, New York, Las Vegas to Hawaii to name a few. Like Jayvon, not just limited to drum n bass, MC XYZ has appeared on a downtempo song entitled "Fireworks" (which is being licensed for a film), a Nu Skool 2-Step/Breaks track entitled "Something Fresh [Beverly Hills Crack]" produced by Tangent (release date is 6.6.2005) and in 2004 hosted several other musical events including one of Hawaii's largest parties (alongside DJ Motiv8 of the Black Eyed Peas).
