INERTIA - FEARLESS EP | TURBINE MUSIC
Turbine Music welcome Madrid's finest outfit, Inertia.
with their debut The Fearless EP,
Opening with the title track Fearless. Its brooding intensified string welcomes the vocal that will make you shiver from head to toe. The heavy bass thumps alongside the kick with clean and precise percussion sparkling on top, more vocal work and an organ lick that keeps the neo soul over the abstract backdrop with slight modulations though out. A wicked opener.
Testify opens with slight unease that will make you listen and when it drops into some halftime business it sucks and melts you into the groove. Low down vocal effects interplay with the drums and mid range soaked scratched stabs keep it flowing, skipping hi hats keep the pace, a switch up tune.
The One kicks off with its LFO synth and thunderous halftime kicks, before telling the listener "you was born to do this!" The low bassline will warm up the cones on many a speaker and the twist and turns in the mid range sit perfectly on top, a favourite from this EP for many a DJ.
Darkrider finishes this EP off with its nod to the Autonomic style. The drums and shuffles don't need to compete for the already spacious groove that allows the sine bass and 80's style synth to do its work. Female vocals blow in and out like the wind to keep the suspense.
Inertia are an outfit that are guaranteed to make future thinking music with a touch of soul. We look forward to working closely with them in the near future.
