So read it if you're interested.
Biography
I'm Greyone and since april 2005 i am a drum'n'bass producer (hardstep/darkstep).
* Real Name : Tom Himpe
* Gender : Male
* Country: Belgium
* Birthday : 18 May 1987
* E-Mail: G_R_E_Y_O_N_E@msn.com
The Beginning
I started producing in 2002 on a bad amateur level. The music i made varied from hardcore to hiphop to techno etc... , but it was a totally mess.
Then when i finally knew some more about FruityLoops (the music program) , my tracks got better and better (but still sounding bad).
Sometimes i made some hiphop-beats . Or sometimes some hardtek , cause this was so easy to make .
Hiphop MC
I was an mc in a group called Dhes (www.dhes.tk) and my name was... Greyone. This was in the year 2003 i guess.
We had some acts here and there , and it was fun to get the free drinks ... but i desired to make my own music.
After a long time of struggling and producing , my beats got better , but my soundquality still sucked. Equalising and mastering was something i didn't know much about.
My music evolved from hiphop to a premature stage of drumnbass with simple patterns and loops.
Drum'n'bass
In 2004 , i started listening to drumnbass and i was directly sold to it. I tried to make it myself , but realised this wasn't as easy as hiphop , cause the patterns are realy complicated and the bassline is to difficult to make...
Then suddenly in 2005, i found a website called www.drumnbass.be . This site was ment to be, a place for dnb-producers , so i signed in...
After uploading a couple of tracks and getting some reviews back , i learned how to make my tracks better and how to improve the soundquality.
Drumloops weren't a problem anymore and my basslines are distorted as hell.
Style
My music style of dnb , lays somewhere between hardstep and darkstep.
I've got my influences from the hardcore (phat kicks , distorted bass , etc...) and from the hiphop (drumloops, pads , strings , ...)
I prefer drumloops and amens like Evol Intent and basses like Dillinja makes them ,drumkicks like Pendulum and trance-sounds like Concord Dawn.
I've made hundreds of tracks but only my last 10 were on the better side.
I'm still learning new things everyday and i hope to get some (positive) response from people who hear my tracks.
Future ...
Im still improving my skills , drums , basses , EQ'ing , mastering , ...
I'll stick to the hardstep/darkstep , but i'll do some techstep and trancestep too.
I'm searching for a dnb label ...? Dunno where to start ... any help ?
So read it if you're interested.
