Loadstar are a drum and bass production duo – signed to the world famous Ram Records label – and are currently flattening the world of d’n’b with exquisite productions that range from every facet of the genre – from tech step to jump up and pounding dark wave - Loadstar are the epitome of what a RAM artist should and does sound like.
Formed of already tipped and regular RAM bods Lomax and Xample, the duo this week released Space Between / BVLD, following on from their massive smasher Link To the Past, the duo look for ways to explore and investigate the sound, often not being the first choice for hardcore heads. But their tight selection, honed productions and subsequent explosion, made them perfect for this week’s instalment of the Data Transmission Podcast. Hitting the neo-jungle vibes of High Contrasts ‘If We Ever’ to DC Breaks’ ‘Take That’ and DJ Fresh’s ‘Gate Keeper’ to cuts you may not be familiar with from artists such as Hamilton, Mind Vortext and Delta Heavy, the production duo here take us on a journey through the current drum and bass scene.

From the discovery of new gems to rinsing out the best tracks of the last twelve months, Loadstar are ready to take you upon a high octane, rip-roaring journey. Buckle up...

Sum up this podcast in 10 words...
A diverse selection of what's hot in DnB right now!

What’s your personal favourite track on it?
Loadstar - Space Between - Had to choose one of our tracks and this is one of our personal favs! We tried doing something a little different on this track and it really came together well, its musical yet still kills it on the dancefloor.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
What we always try to do in our sets and tracks, have lots of energy for the dancefloor while still having a diverse and musical edge.

What’s the best gig you’ve played recently?
Ram @ Fabric always is a great show, but other highlights have been Paris at the end of 2010. It was in what looked like a circus tent and the vibe was intense. It was one of those shows where we were meant to play for about 90 mins but ended up playing for over 2 hours!

What have you got coming up?
Space Between and BLVD are out this week on Ram and will be the forerunner for our album which will be out in June.

Also watch out for some remixes including Clare McGuire's next single...

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
To all those who have supported us thank you, and to those who have never heard us, hopefully this will give a brief introduction to Loadstar and what we are about! Enjoy...
