While on myspace got given a link to a website where unsigned artist can try their luck at remixing. The current track licensed to the website is the absolute classic "black" by DJ SS

do you have to include the b line from the original? or do you have to resemble the old one with a new version?can you loose the original and just use the vocals to put over any b line
 
I don't think there are any hard and fast rules; if you really want to know ask email the guys a back2you
