First off, can I say that I should be able to mention Skrillex as a legitimate artist without being flamed to death. He's not bad. Sure, he doesn't deserve 100 times the number of youtube views of Noisia, and it pisses me off when he takes dubstep and mixes it with crap but he's ok in his own way. Fuck you haters.

I saw somewhere that Skrillex had been influenced by Squarepusher, and I thought it showed in these two tracks...

    What do you guys think?

While I am not a Skrillex or dubstep fan at all, I don't find it hard to believe that one of his inspirations is Squarepusher. Just about everyone has been inspired by Squarepusher in one way or another.

I gave Shrillex's stuff a listen a long time ago. It was decent. There's nothing wrong technically speaking with his stuff, and I more than respect anybody who's doing what they actually love to do in their life for a living, but it's...too cheesy for my tastes. More along the lines of pop music imho, but hey to each their own.

Yeah, it's been established Skrillex is human. That wasn't really my point, but it's good anyway.

Does anyone think that those two tracks I posted are pretty similar?
