I saw a tutorial on cutting drums from other songs.

Say i like the drums that have been used in a tune and i cut them and make my own kit. Is this looked on as cheating? Or is it commonly used throughout drum and bass production?.

I cant see much wrong with it as everyone gets there drums from somewhere, but just woundered if this is commonly used?

If you're working with drum loops, look up 'slice to midi' or 'slice to sampler'. It's a common technique.
