BIOS - BREAKBEAT INPUT / OUTPUT SYSTEM
THE LABEL:
There were days in the 90's where you regularly had to hit the "DEL" button on your PC keyboard to reach the heart of your system - the "Basic Input Output System." Around that time, a new style of electronic dance music from England had its first peak: the music that is now known as "Drum'n'Bass".
Ten years later, it's time to go back to the heart of this beautiful music, time for a
BIOS-Update. But it's not about configuring your system, it's about configuring your breakbeats.
AMANING from Germany is the system administrator. His mission: to carefully select strong, quality tunes for his new imprint which is not about him as a producer, but good music.
The focus is to release good Drum'n'Bass, no matter where it's coming from or who programmed it.
There will be music from established producers as well from up and coming artists. All styles will be represented. Quality not quantity!
THE RECORD:
BIOS 002 welcomes a new producer on board: MOTION (Bath, UK) an up + coming producer already getting alot of attention due to his acclaimed releases on INFRARED, CAMINO BLUE, and COVERT OPERATIONS.
On the A-side of this 12", MOTION whips up stepping beats with unique Eastern-influenced flavours that mold into a deep and rolling journey with a strong dancefloor approach due to its catchy vibe and strategically-placed Reeces and percussion. BIG!
Flip the record over and MOTION teams up with the beautiful vocal talents of HANNAH C for "THE SUN AT 5AM." This liquid roller gets straight to the point with its clear drums, easy melodies, and HANNAH's floating vocals to round this off as a strong follow-up to BIOS 001. Qualtity watch out!
