Deficit grew up around Southampton/Portsmouth on a diet of Madness, hip-hop, metal and dnb. DJing now for around 9 years & a budding producer, the most recent highlights have been warm-up sets for Adam F and Raiden and destroying the competition at the UP dnb DJ finals to win a residency. He can be found rinsing out dirty, rollin tech styles for Up.dnb & Malfunction and heading up the AutomAte radio show. Hard-edged drum & bass aimed square at the dancefloor. Why won't my DAMN FEET STAY STILL?

Enjoy ;)

Tech:Nology have gone from stength to strength and become a London institution since they were founded in Brixton in 2005. Known for their heavy drum & bass sound, their portfolio includes a long running residency at Plan B, Brixton & yearly birthday bashes at the mighty Scala club in Kings Cross. For a taste of the techy dnb they have become famous for, check out the bi-monthly Temah Sunday sessions at Plan B, Brixton and the new monthly event held on Wednesdays at The Nest, Dalston. For the AutomAte podcast, pocketdred brings a different flavour with this mix of ragga vibes and jungle riddims.

Selectah ;)

Defazed is a purveyor of the filthiest neuro & tech dnb. He's starting to turn some major heads now and will surely take the neuro world by storm in 2012. Instilled with his unique glitchy style, honed by years of live laptop battling, this podcast is 100% his own work - everything you hear is a Defazed production or remix. Dedicated to the cause, Defazed is also one half of more chilled out songwriting duo Metaphra, a music production teacher and has won two UK laptop battle titles. Phew! Be sure to check out the tracklist (below, and also in the lyrics section of the ID3 tags attached to the mp3 file), pick up the tracks already released on Ammunition Recordings, Nocid Business and Subtek Records and keep your eyes peeled for the EP on Trust In Music later in the year.

DJ Reevah, from Peebles in the Scottish Borders but an Edinburgh resident for 8 years now, has been into electronic music since forever, with influences as diverse as The Orb, AC/DC, rez tapes, hip-hop, jungle, Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, XTC, Morrissey, Depeche Mode... the list goes on. He started DJing in 2001 but disappeared for a few years to start a family. Shuffling Strangefoot is a producer, DJ & enthusiast of twisted dance music from across the gamut. At 19 years old, he was pummeling punters at local raves, mixing up 45min cavalcades of his own tunes. Fast forward several years, and he has matured and developed a repertoire of dance music that isn’t easily nestled into one genre; or in his own words, "I can't write dubstep for shit."

He's a mix and mastering engineer for his peers, providing sound design, soundtracks & audio post-production for short films and has even found his way onto BBC Radio. Now residing and performing in Brighton, he's also one third of Sshwob, a collective of live improvisers who recently caused a sensation with a live audio/visual remix of the cult film, Koyaanisqatsi.

2012 is going to be a busy one. The first thing to drop will be Defazed's skull-cracking remix of Strangefoot’s ‘Universal Something’ on Trust In Music (the original version can be purchased via the bandcamp link below), and there's plenty more live work, remixes, and releases to follow.

For current releases and free stuff, check out these links:

For this mix, Strangefoot pulls out a few recent favourites from a selection of drum & bass, dubstep, crunk and drumstep.
