ACID LAB - AEONS EP | TURBINE MUSIC

“We welcome back Acid Lab to Turbine Music, who steps forth with his first solo EP, the aptly named Aeons EP.
The man from Germany delivers it cold and uncompromising whist’s still searching deep within the half time sonic soundscapes.
The title track opens with a pumping kick whilst a lonely string bends in and out and clever percussion play interacts which entices the morphing bassline from a bear pit!
Little native vocals hollow from a far to welcome you into some unknown territory, cave music that’s alone and not scared by this.
Interfacecarries on the theme from Aeons, and steps up the pressure with heavy thuds of a kick with techno infused percussion and bleeps. The bass isn’t hanging around and comes in like all Acid Lab tunes, from below. Rolling hats and mid range movement add to the terrifying outlook of the tune, play this at loud volume and this will cause your teeth to rattle.
Phlanx opens with a sinister string and drums that acid lab is perhaps more known for, pneumatic snares that are quick and precise with scratches and tear percussion side by side, a pacey tune that is one for the headz, a real gem that works on the dancefloor and easily could have been around in the blue note era but still sounds like todays blueprint, a testament
Finishing the EP is The Drone, a cold steel tune which is so lo-fi that gravity is the only thing holding it down, the sub has to be heard to believed, 40hz. The snare steps in without the pressure to do so and adds more elements from yesteryear but done with a subtle nod. A great way to finish the Aeons EP from a fine talent, Acid Lab.”
