Hey drum heads and bass freaks.

Feeling the need to get some critical feedback on my recent compositions. My freinds are all too polite I think

They're not yer usual dancefloor pumping d+b. I tend to fuse elements of classical/folk/world styles into a framework of driving drums and bass.

I would be interested to hear your comments!

i second that, 'the other side' has got some beautiful stringwork and highly original albeit sort of quirky beats. makes me think of goldie which is quite an accomplishment in my book. id like it even more if there was a heavy sinus bassline with dropbass and shit. youre innovative and melodic. on the downside the two other tunes dont swing very much and all three need a clearer and more pronounciated mix.

Cheers for the comments and critique! been hard getting any response at all on some other forums..

overall mix is still something im learning as I go along, its tricky with having lots of very different elements going on at once. Ill look into the swing, or lack of, and getting more bass into theotherside for ya.

What is 'sinus bass'? scuse my lack of the lingo...

logik that's some cool background info.
i personnally use sound forge's fm synthesis tool for sub bass.
set it to make a simple sine wave with no feedback (i like the frequency to be 55 Hz; that's a real low A). Then I envelope it as required for the track. Sometimes I push the sine wave high so it is clipping in places (of course go back and reduce the volume, we don't want to hear clipping in your track). i don't know why but chopping off the peaks of the sine wave works.

    i hope this helps too
