Ok, I'm a really big cheapskate and never buy anything if I can get away with it, but I wanted to record myself playing piano/bass in the other room quickly and easily, so that if I get any ideas, I can just record them.
I might also be looking to collaborate with singers when I get to uni next year.

I do actually already have a shure C606 mic, which has been hanging around the house for a while, not sure where it came from, but I've no audio interface and also, with the 'studio' in a different room, it's really inconvenient if I actually want to record anything, cause I have to get out really long extension wires and keep running back and forth between the two rooms.

I also have a xonar dgx soundcard.

I thought I should get the zoom h1 handy, varies in price but around £80, plus wind shield.

Is there anything wrong with it, and is there a better alternative for under £120?
