How deep is she into the scene, ever had her listen to one of your mixes? Has she ever attended a RAM night at Fabric? (shit I haven't even done that) :( ... Is she rather good at x-outing?

Finally got mine to listen to me play around a bit on the decks, she said it sounded "angry" whatever the fuck that means, shattered my self-confidence... Thanks, ma

My mum said that some of the songs that I listen to are good and the others are "fucking ri-donk-ulous" -- in the bad way.

My mum and my neighbours have slowly started to resent me over the years, first there was the guitar, then the drums, then the decks. I can't produce or mix if my mums in the house cause she just gets pissy and moans so I think thats her view on my music. I showed her a track I produced and all I got was "It's nice" and she walked out.

My dad however listens to whatever I put on in his car, he is almost 50 has a terrible accent and calls it "The drums and bass", don't live with him though.

My mom just dont get it,its like playing dnb to 1 year old... or playing drum n bass for statue.Music goes into her ears, but her brain fails to understand what its all about.Where I hear beautifull 5 layer wobble, different distortions, smashing beats, whole technical complexity of dnb track on top of extatic sub bass she hears just annoying ugly noise,"its like some strange techno or something like that..."

my mum likes the easier listening stuff, asks me to put it on while she does the ironing, she's still relatively young tho :) she doesnt like dub-step, jump-up, and she says the darker stuff is a lil too depressing, she was into all the early rave music n stuff tho and yer, she likes the 'calibre sound' so to speak, i consider myself lucky :)

My old dear doesn't really hear me when i'm mixing, unless i got it full blast cuz she pretty much deaf in one ear.

But when i crank the bass up she tell me if two tunes go well together or not lol.
She and my old man are tolerant as fuck. Seeing as i live in a two bedroom flat, it's not like the noise is muffled a huge amount. God bless 'em.

She actually listens to that Ibiza chilled stuff anyway. Oh, and she's 50 lmao

that generation don't understand because they have never taken drugs
Oh hohohoho.. My mother and I not five minutes earlier were talking about dropping acid ;) hah.

She's probably quite a bit older than most of the people's mothers here, 57. She said it sounded "angry" today when she visited my place, but she also acknowledged that her parents HATED the music she listened to.. so meh.

I'm surprised those of you who live at home get away with it, glad I moved out before I ever started mixing, otherwise I'd never have been able to get a proper setup.

My parents can tolerate the London Elektricity album... otherwise whilst i'm living at home and getting free food i've decided to show some respect and mix in the headphones

in terms of parents and living at home, my step dad has a bigger SSystem than me and likes garage, house, and oldskool and its usualy him the neighbours complain about (if they complain) so they encourage the loudness lol
