I'm the same man, never laughed so much at a stand-up than at his Alcoholocaust performance. Genius

Props also to Russell Howard; negotiating a platform for unknown stand-up comics to perform on tele. Just a shame that pretty much all of them are shit

jim jeffries has some good gags, but i find him a bit crass and shouty.

    my favourites are:

    eddie izzard
    dylan moran
    bill hicks
    bill burr
    louis ck
    george carlin

also, i was never really a fan of russell brands stand-up, but his latest live dvd "the messiah complex" is one of the best stand up shows i've ever seen.

Jim Jefferies is a good story teller.
Bill Burrs Arnie bit might be the best thing ever.

Been listening to lots of Opie and Anthony radio show on youtube late, and Patrice O'Neal is absolute genius RIP!!! Jim Norton is very good on the radio, his stand up is not really my thing though. Some kind soul has catalogued all of the comedians appaerances on O and A.

Heres quite a decent podcast from O and A, with verious Bill Burr rants and stuff.

Seriously though, Katt Williams is the man. "It aint no motherfuckin drug its just a plant. It just grow like that, and if you should so happen to set it on fire... there are some effects. But thats not the same as drugs, drugs you got to do shit to it chemically, you gotta add bakin soda, water, stir it up, i don't know the recipe, im just sayin'!". Love him. Youtube: Katt Williams Weed, and Katt Williams Insurgents. haha.

about this stealing jokes bizness, most of the comedians listed so far in this thread have stolen from someone who had already stolen it etc, but the delivery is just so carbon copied that you have to wonder if he actually knows its stolen. like not carlos mencia type stolen, but usually conceptually stolen, then there are those that really did it word for word with delivery and all stolen. still, carlos mencia is in a league of his own when it comes to that. you have to wonder how he gets away with it. you really do. is standup such a small genre of entertainment that there are still no real defined rules? is that how he gets away with it? because hes got fans, like loads of them. also that puppet guy, that guy is pathetic, how can anyone think thats funny?

my latest fave standup is trevor noah. that man is funny!

At the moment, Bill Burr, Doug Stanhope, Stewart Lee.

Overall - probably George Carlin and Bill Hicks.
