To get this out of the way: Been doin' a bit of this , so don't wonder why it's dumb. Been thinking about changing my focus in college to something scientific. Not because of the money diff. and all, but every major branch of philosophy can be categorised in a scientific endeavour save metaphysics. I thought it a logical decision. I'd love to know what the mind truly is. I'd love to know stuff about the significance of the human race. Are the beings on Earth the only cognisant beings? I don't really understand why the centres of Academia changed from the pursuit of your own personal interests in order to better the society you live in to a place to just go and drink mad beer with your friends for four years and then jump into a shit job that you hate for the rest of your life. It's like this stagnation of pursuit led to the stagnation of mankind in the last 45 years. Basically asking for your two cents and maybe some books I should read on the major branches of science (chemistry, biology, astronomy you know.) to give me a taste for which suits my wants a bit more. I think rather conceptually, so something with a little less equation theories would be nice to ease me into it then drop the Hawking shit on me. Maybe I'll get smart enough to make HAL 11000.
