To get this out of the way:

Been doin' a bit of this :fag:, so don't wonder why it's dumb.

Been thinking about changing my focus in college to something scientific. Not because of the money diff. and all, but every major branch of philosophy can be categorised in a scientific endeavour save metaphysics. I thought it a logical decision. I'd love to know what the mind truly is. I'd love to know stuff about the significance of the human race. Are the beings on Earth the only cognisant beings?

I don't really understand why the centres of Academia changed from the pursuit of your own personal interests in order to better the society you live in to a place to just go and drink mad beer with your friends for four years and then jump into a shit job that you hate for the rest of your life. It's like this stagnation of pursuit led to the stagnation of mankind in the last 45 years.

Basically asking for your two cents and maybe some books I should read on the major branches of science (chemistry, biology, astronomy you know.) to give me a taste for which suits my wants a bit more. I think rather conceptually, so something with a little less equation theories would be nice to ease me into it then drop the Hawking shit on me. Maybe I'll get smart enough to make HAL 11000.

I'm majorly fucked up right about now, can't really understand the entirety of the post but science is great man. Switch.

Alright I rtead throug abotu six times I think I got it.

Get a starters guide to physics, if you'd really like to explore the meaning of everything - thats the best way. All the stuff we perceive seems to be universal. Learn how the big bang happened and repotr back!

You should go out in public and terrorize the block in your current state. You won't remember it and your neighbours will give you mad funny looks for some reason.

    What are you on?

I've had Canadian Mist it's not terrible, but it's got some room for improvement that's for sure. Just be glad it wasn't McCormick's gin.

wow. go buy bill brysons a short history of nearly everything and read it cover to cover. then you'll realise that the science of human nature b2b natural history is a never ending pursuit that will send you insane. look at the pioneers of science through the ages.... they were all fucking crazy because they rotted their brains thinking about this sort of shit.

what im saying is your thirst for this subject matter will never be quenched. i would advise getting som other direction. totally change your life. its really easy espesh if your single. i wouldnt like to begin guessing on what sort of things you could do but everyone can dramatically alter the courses of their lives easier than they think.

I've already driven myself batshit with philosophy. I might as well back up my arguments with something real and not the plausibility of anything.

all you need to understand is the movement of the crabs along your local coast line and you can make a fine living for yourself, find a wife.

That would mean I would have to move 1000+ miles in either direction... and find a wife.

    Possible things?

I'll try it out and see how far I get, hopefully to the point of knowing the end of infinity.
