Easy peeps

Throwing a house party on Wednesday and wanted some advice

I have two yamaha HSM80's, two technics and an allen and heath xone 22

I can also borrow two pretty decent bass bin speakers which also use the XLR cable as well as the yamaha's.

The problem is my mixer only has two XLR outputs, so i can only have one set of speakers plugged in

Was thinking maybe an XLR - Y cable may work? not sure though, was wondering if anyone had an experience?

Thanks

I dont understand what you are trying to achieve? Do you need to run more speakers?

If so, what input does the amp for the "decent bass bin speakers" have? Or are they active?

Alex - Does the Yamaha's have some sort of line out you can plug into master on your mixer? then connect the "bass bins" through the XLR ports. job done.

obviously if they are only XLR outs on the Yahamas and the bass bins your fucked you'll need a bigger mixer.

I would recomend hiring a mixing desk

that'll be a trs input

u can get rca to trs cables or get aan adapter to plug into an existing rca

Usually, in a big system, you'd run your mixer to your amp, and your speakers to the amp, then the only connections limit is the amount on your amp.

Thats why you rarely get more than 1 pair of xlr connections on a mixer. Small setup, 2's fine, any bigger your expected to have an amp =P.

wicked,

So could have the big speakers plugged into the XLR outputs on the mixer

The only thing then, is i have a monitor output left on my mixer as so... http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.westenddj.co.uk/upload/Products/Xone_22_back.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.westenddj.co.uk/Product/ALLEN_%2526_HEATH/DJ_Equipment/XONE-22/&h=337&w=800&sz=66&tbnid=kAll5ssUkmetnM:&tbnh=52&tbnw=124&zoom=1&usg=__OrT4CqYVsiWpuD0IPAN82beEyO0=&docid=4ejpKgzwoPGlwM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=FB_GUL_LEoW70QXjqIHgDw&ved=0CDAQ9QEwAA&dur=274

but then an RCA to TRS would only be able to go into one of my speakers?

Thanks for all your help so far
