Will Sigma's Debut LP put Drum n' Bass into the spotlight?

I suppose my point is Introducing dnb to the commercial world was just a greedy move to make money. Sadly these underground producers are not benefiting as much as all these poppy artists are.

Again this is just my opinion.

So, what's stopping the underground producers from making some benefit for themselves? It's always coming down to what each of us want. Some want fame, some want money, some want to make art and some don't care at all. It's easy, really, same old, same old. The circle of life - you either make music which only caters to a few, who are admiring you based on that fact, but you aren't selling a lot of it, which means lesser income, none of the biggest imprints are interested in signing you, promoters are not booking you that often etc. or you make music which caters to a lot, die hard fans hate you, but you are selling some nice figures, you get more money, the biggest outlets take notice and try to sign you, you get a lot of bookings because you can attract a huge crowd. It's all your own choice and strictly from pragmatic point of view there's hardly anything to pick on someone for when they make such choice. Granted, you might not like it, but in reality it doesn't hurt you or anyone else for that matter, it's just your (biased) opinion based on some personal preferences.

But my original point was that this is not the first time DNB has been introduced to the commercial world. This has happened every few years since the genre was formed. Even in the Jungle days General Levy broke into the mainstream and was lynched by some heads the same way Shy FX, Pendulum and Fresh have been.

Summary.

Thoughts about that album?

Opinions from paying customers.

Banter/Offtopic

Criticism

The landlord turns up and whines about keyboard warriors. Guess what, HASHTAG.

Boo this man!

Banter.

The landlord shows up again and allows your opinion but insists on you being peasants.

A bit of arselicking by some regulars :teeth:

Saam kicks in the door tho, drunk. Demands answers.

The landlord returns from Eton, just to kick the peasants into the mud via thunderballs from his nose that is attached to his forehead.

Major arselicking.

Banter.

An actual discussion.

Daaaaaagz.

Dagz.

Shut

up.

Hahahahahah. I'm not sure where I fit there!

My summary is much shorter though:

Underground die hards don't like success (although there may be a level to adhere to with success ie. you're allowed to be successful in the eyes of 500 people only. Anything more and you can fuck right off) :)

When your nan rings you up like have you heard the new sigma track, fuck off nan!

I know underground artists are not getting as much as they should be but have you ever seen them turn up looking like tramps. Im sure a couple of them drive porsches. Just saying.

Done.

so the moral of the story is.

i like dolly parton but i don't like country.
i like slipknot but i don't like metal.
i like bestiality but i don't like pornography.
i like Sigma but i don't like drum n bass.

the end.

Woah I'm impressed 3 tracks that sound exactly the same. Changing, Higher, Broken Promises.
Beyond The Wall is some major Pendulum - Slam rip off.
Exactly what I expected, nice one Sigma, pushing the boundaries :uberlaugh

As far as all these flippant comments about, shit tune, basic production, terrible song, that shows how small minded some of you can be when it comes to listening to songs. Whether you like it or not, there is a massive amount of skill that goes into creating a track that can cross genres and lyrics that resonate with millions of people, and im sure if some of you spent some time trying to write and produce something like this, you would actually appreciate how hard it is

Yeah you guys really perfected The Four Chords Of Pop

gonna be honest i was pleasantly surprised by some of them - stay, slow down and beyond the wall are pretty good. rest are the same recycled drums but whatever.

I like the Reason. I like Stay too but I expect a 4x4 any minute, a Sy & Unknown remix would be great..or maybe Breeze & Styles.

Slow down is nice.

The Pendulum reference is more than strong in Beyond the Wall.

I can´t stand Broken Promises, the vocals are horrible.

Running is nice, a tad too slow tho.

I´m sure Lighters was written by Drumsound and Bassline Smith before :teeth:

Not a fan of those vocals in Lost away, altho the track is not bad really.

Rudeboy sounds kinda like Peace, Love & Unity, again..not a fan of those vocals. Other than that..

Redemption and Higher, see Broken Promises..

Life..next please

Good Times is okay.

So is Nobody to Love, I prefer hearing this on the radio rather than Linkin Fart. Same goes for Glitterball, Changing and Coming Home.

Feel it is EDM at its worst.

Feels like home is alright.

The acoustic version of Coming Home is actually better than the dnb.

Just my 2 cents
