I read about it on many websites that even other bands that will take part on the festival are criticizing the presence of Metallica as a headliner. There's even a petition online to "ban" Metallica of the festival.

All this and I'm thinking "what the hell, just let those guys play and fill their pockets with more money".

Yeah, I've read this too. Because Hetfield will narrate a docummentary about hunting bears, or something like that. This is bullshit, IMO. If the guy like to hunt, and isn't breaking any laws by doing it, what does this have to do with the festival?

Because the festival donates money to and is partnered with organisations like greenpeace, CND and such, and bear hunting isn't seen as fitting with the "spirit of Glastonbury". Personally I think bear hunting is pointless and makes you a massive cunt, but that isn't going to stop me seeing them.

Seems to me like someone really hates metal and wants to find any excuse to fuck up the gig

Well, they may be overrated, but you can't deny their relevance. And also their gigs.

I went to their gig in 2010, here in São Paulo, paid half my salary on a ticket, but in the end it was worth it.

You are the first person that I know that say only these two albums are relevant. No love for Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets?

I'd say Metallica are more fitting for Glastonbury than Beyonce, nd no one kicked off about that last time. #
    Besides Metallica are awesome

Nope. That timespan in my collection is occupied by Void or Minor Threat.

maybe they should pull up all the artists, organisers, sponsors, bar staff on every vague animal rights abuse they can find...
