the date is still the date. jesus didn't invent time when he was born, it was around before him and it'll be around long afetr we're all gone, there'll just be no one to count it

it's believed that it is actually only 2004, the monks apparently made a cock up when calculating the birth of christ using the bible and were out by four years

they date Stonehenge at about 4000BC so if ur peagan it wud be 6008

i dunno bout agnostic depends what evet u date urself from but modern man is about 200,000 years old, 'life' is about 4 billion years old and the earth is 4.6 billion years old

if your religious then your a year out already beacuase it started at 1 AD not 0 so if you think about it 1 year after jesus was born its was 2AD and after 2 years it was 3AD so its 2007AD not 2008 - thats why at the millenium they had all them scientists tellin us to hold the celebrations for a year coz it was only 1999 years after the birth of jesus, the real millenium was midnight on 1st jan 2001. this has fuck all to do with the actual q but if you use the convential calendar its quite interesting... maybe.

i was thinking about this the other day, but then i realised that it was easier to call it 2008 than go by something like the age of the earth, bit less of a mouthfull :p
