Ive just been offered a set on the local radio station, one problem though, its a commercial station & even though I am greatful to get a gig they have 'asked' me to play what is imo cheesey d n b. :nono: What shall I do? Should I sell out?

Btw I still cant work out how to get a picture as my signature
And no I'm not blonde even if I do appear to be dumb.

Bit of a hard one, I know what it's like when you haven't played out for a while then all of a sudden you get a chance to rekindle that old flame with playing out. You got to be honest with yourself first about how you think this is going to help you in your career to where you REALLY want to go. I don't think any1 in the music industry should have there hand forced & be told what to play in there sets, I think if your been booked to play out or to host a show, do a live gig etc it's because the promoter should have done the research & found out what your really about within your musical style, & who he/she wants to put you on show to.
There are loads of people living the music they love everyday, by doing things there way to get it.
Basically my point is if you feel that you've got an oppurtunity than take it, but at the same time remember who your doing it for & the number 1 reason why you think it's right to take it.

i say do it... you wont become a superstar DJ by turning down work!!

you have to compromise sometimes.... you can't expect to play EXACTLY what you want to play ALL of the time.... you'll never get anywhere like that....

Might as well do it so you can tell promoters you've worked for a big station. Looks good on a CV
