i have recently arranged to move out with 2 of my mates.. they are both looking forward to it.

we havent found a house yet and i havnt got the deposit together which is about a grand.. one of them has saved up and is pretty much ready. i was going to borrow the money off my boss for the deposit.

i was happy to do this but after alot of thought i have realised its going to be tight for me..

anyway i have been asked to move in with 2 other mates for 300 quid a month all in with no deposit and no bills!! but i dont wana let down my mates..

should i just do whats best for me and let them down!???

Back out of it, it's better than committing then letting them down in a few months.

How can you not afford 300 quid anyway?!

Not really, sorry. Why don't you just get a 5 bed gaff between the lot of you?

what would you do if your son was at home,
cryin' all alone on the bedroom floor
cuz he's hungry, and the only way to feed him
is to sleep with a man for a
little bit of money and his daddy's gone,
    somewhere smokin' rock now,
in and out of lock down,
    I ain't got a job now,
so for you this is just a good time but for me this is what
    I call life, mmm

    what would you do?
get up on my feet and let go of every excuse
    what would you do?
cuz I wouldn't want my baby to go through what I went
    through
    (come on)
    what would you do?
Get up on my feet and stop makin' up tired excuses
    What would you do?
girl I know if my mother can do it, baby you can do it

To echo what SLow said, if you can't afford it (even borderline) then don't move it.

It's not really very nice having to kick friends of out their home because they can't pay the rent, I've had to do it and made a vow that I'd not put myself in that situation again.

You can always wait a little while then get a place, but there's no point moving out only to move back in a few months down the line because you hadn't run the numbers. Living on your own is EXPENSIVE, you'd be surprised how much the everyday shit can add up and eat into your rent money.

All I'm saying is make sure you do the maths and work out weather or not you can actually afford it, and having JUST enough to pay the rent won't cut it, you'll always need a couple of hundred quid a month on top of that to live on.
