What vst fx & Filters do you recomend

What vst fx & Filters do you recomend freeware & other ??

im looking for the best vst out there to filter & put fx on my beats,

i am using acid pro 7 ,massive,soundforge,

ive got camel audio fx which r good,could do with some more .

cant speak highly enough of the PSP products, there all really good and most you can get for free
 
For just plain filtering and no more, you can go for some simple, free things. Check out stuff like Littleduck or the Auto-Filter from the Kjaerhus Classic series, or NorthPole.
If you want to go murder with filtering, the examples stated in the posts above will do the trick, major.
 
Ohm Force also do some good plug ins...

The Ohm Boyz delay is probably one of there best, its great as a normal delay but you can also really twist up some sounds with it.

antares tube
lots of delays and reverbs (see my dub effects thread for those....)
stillwell audio vibe eq
stillwell audio major tom compressor
waves c1 compressor
waves paz analyser
waves "q" eq's
tone2 bifilter

plus loads of others

do most of my processing in reaktor...

im bored at work so....
other plugs that get a work out...
not just filters here...

Dynamic plugs....
Waves API 2500 - Like to use this on drums (really colourful compressor)
Sonnox Dynamics - The Gate, Expander and Compressor are great. My default Gate for shaping drum hits. (very transparent)
Sonnox EQ - Fucking surgical. Bit annoying that the high and
low pass wont go past about 10k and 400hz respectively. Great EQ similar to the cambridge if anyone has UAD (very transparent)
URS Fulltec - Emulation of the Pultec EQP-1a. Loving using this again lately... it had taken a back seat for a while (colourful)
Waves SSL G buss Compressor - Emulation of The SSL4000 compressor... great plug... like t ouse this on bass....
the attack setup is annoying fore use on anything with a sharp
transient... like drums... but i love using this on bass... (very colourful)
Waves SSL E series EQ - SSL emualtion for that SSL sound...
9/10 studio lackeys cant tell the differnce... (colourful)
Waves Api 560 - Api Emulation (very colourful)
Waves REQ 2 - My LPF of choice.... nice eq... .(transparent)
Waves Parametric EQ - This gets used once in a blue moon to notch out trouble frequencies... (transparent)
Steinberg Overdrive - Love this plug phat...!!!
Sonnox transient Mod - to punchy..? not punchy enough...?
fixed...! easy to control the slope of the transient... also
a built in over drive with adjustable attack and release for
the gain curve.... not as simple as say the SPL transient designer... but a great plug none the less... best native trasient shaper imo.... (quite transparent unless the settings are extreme)

Delay Modifiers....
PSP Nitro - Love it..... 4 modifiers with a very complex matrix....
Steinberg Rotary - one of my favourite mod plugs.... tweak the crossover point to push formants low....
Audio Dammage Dubstation... simple delay plug but sounds so good... my delay of choice...
Sonnox Reverb - Love the EMT emulations... also the drum rooms get a little use sometimes to....
Resochord - A reaktor patch but also a standalone VST now thanks to NI electronic intruments 2 collection... Crazy metallic resonances....
Reaktor 5 - I need to mention it again... thanks for making me
happy NI.... Motherfucking Beast of program.... does everything and more...


As for spec analyzers dont rate waves
get voxengo span for vst or standalone specPLUS
is unbeatable....

more but i better get back to work....

Also ?? once i have got my vst fx set up & running ok
how do you make the fx constantly change ,,example over say area or blocks or 16 bars say ,,,,
i can put the vst over my beats ok- works fine.
But how is it done when you make your vst change and morph into diff sounds while its running along in the track ??
im using acid pro 7 & im new to this .

as sook said, its automation. there should be a record button and a read button somewhere on the vst? thats how it works in cuebase anyways. you press 'W' for 'Write' (in red) to record the automation then put it to 'R' for 'Read' (green) when you want it to play the knob twisting you did (oo err)
 
As i was saying in the reaktor
thread recently...
NI midi learn function is great
for recording automation...

1)enable midi learn....
2)edit the parameter
3)move the controller....
(make sure you have a record enabled
midi channel active)
4)begin recording....

-Done-

you can now record/play back automation for the
synth, FX, sampler what ever as a
midi CC controller movement.... simple...
way easier than manually mapping controllers....

Controllers with Automapping is
the way to go though...
Novation remote SL is excellent...

but yeah its all about automation....
