sorry.. but this is my main problem with them.. they get overplayed to fuck, people play the same tunes of his EVERY WEEK!!! and this makes me sad

thats the piont i was making instead of moaning about djs overplaying there tunes why dont ya get in the studio an make something better
 
Because not everyone has the time, not everyone wants to invest the money, and most importantly: Not eveyone wants to put up with the bullshit involved in trying to get a record signed to a label. Also doing such would also comprimise ones ability to state how they feel about anything involved in the scene (duh, you have to kiss ass instead).
 
interesting things happen when people bitch about dillinja. personally i think they should either listen to him, or shut the fuck up and listen to something else. music is about opinion, there's no good/bad.

Fast Car as a song isn't very good. But some of the elements used are.
Afterlistening to some of his new shit, It seems like Dillinja started making the tune, stopped for some reason and then through everything together, and did it in a way that dragged on for 5 or whatever minutes.

My faith has been resotred, but he does need to add some diffrernt samples at times.

I just heard Fast Car thanks to me figuring out what was wrong with my RA player. That Fast Car song is god awefull!!!!! Its worse then I had ever imagined! Now I wish my RA Player was broken again....

One thing I love about Jungle/DnB at present day is th fact that there are so many styles, Photek, Kamanchi, Calibre, Lemon D, DKay + Co, RAM, Ray Keith and all the other great producers. I love it.
I wasnt 'wih it' back in 1992 or whatever, but I still feel it! It's always nice when you hear an oldskool tune in a newskool set..

I don't think I'm the only one to believe Dillinja's stuff around the early-mid 1990s was fucking awesome, and he is still awesome. I agree with many opinions re. disposable nature of tracks on this thread, but I have also seen him tear up a big sound system in the past year and it fucking RULES. And I wasn't mashed.
AND the argument that early hardcore/jungle was less disposable/therefore better, doesn't fly with me at all.

I know this is old thread and much has been said on D, but that's my two cents.

Yeah, look I understand your point 1992. His early work was so complexly arranged, deep, original, smoked out. Now it seems the "whoah!! My pill's coming on !!" factor has overtaken, and he hasn't made a truly ingenious arrangement for a while. I guess there are many reasons why I listen to dNb in my life, and at various times he has hit the right note on one or more of them, hence my respect. I do recall blatant tunes being rinsed back in the day as well. I also think when someone is so bloody prolific it opens them up for a lot of comment as well, maybe he should be quiet for a bit. ( I don't actually believe this ;) ) eZ
 
dont know what yo fools are on about. Sif Dillinjas stomch churning baselines dont rock the casbah. Sif he isnt the original GODFATHER of drum'n'bass. We have mainly him to thank for this wicked genre of electronica.
Anyway ive been trying to fucken locate where hes playing for the next 2 months. Seems he may be in America. Does anyone know when and where he might be playing in the UK. Have to see him live before I cog home.
