I use a Creative ZEN and will probably buy a smaller one soon. No frigging file restrictions, Itunes or Sony crapware.

Amen that bro, iTunes is a right pain in the arse! Why does it have to update every time i plug it in, what if i want to delete some files to make room for somethin else on the PC, i lose all the tunes on the iPod aswell, in the words of my generation, "That's shite!"

Oh well, glad that the fucking thing has broken, i'll probably get a Creative ZEN now!!

I have to agree. I wanna stay away from any sort of exclusive and or proprietary technologies like sony & apple.

Got a 3rd generation iPod (40Gb), had it for about 4 years now, still working fine (y)

Maybe they don't make 'em like they used to?

I think its more the people who bought Minis and Nanos that have had, or soon will have problems. I had a mini and the battery's completely dead rendering it useless. Anyone with a working mini is bound to have this problem soon. Nanos are also supposed to have a short life but we'll have to wait and see for those I guess.
