what intsrument is this?

right i need help finding out what this is, it sounds like its middle eastern or asian or something those lines first example is in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw7CdC8q-lU its in the intro comes in about 30 secs, the other is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_K_57wZumM its just from the start of the intro. it sounds like a violin but im just not sure if it is. cheers for the help if anyone can work it out

i was thinking it was some kind of bagpipe but like i said im not sure, and to subprime the whole album is just genius its totally worth a buy, kryptic minds never cease to amaze.
