nuff sed

on the subject tho, dunno whats happened 2 him, is he going deaf or what? he was smashin it up until around 2005/5 for me..i know a lot of the old djs' ears are going, all the years playin infront of big systems unprotected takes its toll

belter...i remember hos set from global 2005...he fuckin blew the roof off pullin off double drops with tunes that are well hard to mix (the signal being one) fuckin effortlessly, i seen him not so long ago and he hadnt changed, his tunes were exactly the same, he is stuck in 2005....

yeah i think he was lookin to book him for the cookiemonster night the superhero one i think, the one i played with shuttle, escape blew the roof off all the same.

the last decent mampi set i heard was at sanctuary fest in 2007, that was big, untold amount of tunes.
when he dropped busted and skibba and fun went absolutely nuts.
or truth be told it sounded sick in that set when he did get that girl>>ra (original mix)
and then nitrous and stay forever. when i hear him these he doesnt pull of any nuts mixes

I used to idolise Mampi. Early 2000-2006 he was the fucking don! Isn't "Dark River" a remix of "Black River"? I'm sure they have the same samples in.
He's made some fantastic tunes in the past, such as "Mainframe"

some of mampi's great tunes...zion, break the mould, power, roxy, predator, firecracker, jungle drum, the one, hi-tek, sonic!!, fusion, jaw 1, 2 & 3, rebirth, machines, future mainframe, nebula, black river........

im sure that only a small amount!, compare that to hype, andy c, groove or fabio's releases?? mampi kills it everytime! :gun:

not sure why hes fallin off the bandwagon ova the past couple of years.. maybe hes gunna make a comeback.. n take ova fabric :gun:

i'd rather see escape play than mampi these days

mampi has always been my favourite producer. i think in its own rights these are good tune.s

however, i totally agree with you joey, it sounds like hes not putting effort in, sounds like a warhead ripp off, and a cntrl c + V job tbh the drums are pretty much identical! ohwell, tbh most jump up producers are doing this at the mo. and the tracks in the selves i can imagion would tear up a rave!

i said this in a post about about 2 years ago as well, but mampi has always been a hero of mine, and he was the one who made me want to start mixing in the first place.

i always look forward to seeing him, just because its mampi, not because he is especially good anymore....he is proper sound as well

i quite like dark river, the intros pretty good

this a tune called RECHARGE i cant find on youtoob...both belters...i hope he picks it back up.

YES YES. This is a massive tune. loved it back in the day.

I was thinking to myself the other day about his new release (Black Box / Dark River) its the same old same old, but the guy has made some great tunes and you've got to give him credit for that !

He should do a collab with someone and and drop a killer EP to get his name back in the scene. !!!!

for me, mampi is 'beginers' dnb... ie gets noobs into the scene, he used to be my favourite DJ... now i can't stand him!

are you serious???

are you not aware of his mainframe lp?huge album bk then not to mention the ressurection tune and the ep which were endlessly rinsed.they are not noob tunes if thats what you wana call em the guy made second strike and the 1 which are to of the biggest classics from the later 90's,his tunes of late are lacking but id hardly say that means he caters for the noobs!

Isn't he like well old now anyways, I think he's done more than enough for the scene and can now sit back and retire to a pint of bitter and a paper can he not?

I can't imagine DJin my whole up until my 40s or something, even tho i'd love to people just have other commitments.

Well done for you done Mampi, if your done then fairplay!

this dark river is a remix of Black river from the music forever LP

the orignal black river is far better than this

I guess some are able to progress with the scene and others can't! Like someone else said he probably lost touch with the scene.

He's a legend no matter what.

blerrghhh... mampi has only ever made one tune, all the rest sound pretty much the same! however, i did think '1 finger' was a nice modern update to the one!

for some reason, when he plays a tune i like, it sounds shit?

What's your criteria for "beginners" dnb?

yes but how else is he going to make money, his label hasnt exactly been firing recently.

can you make enough money as a dnb dj to retire when your 40?

I think Mampi is far from done and the time spent on recent releases suggests this, his set at innovation was banging, whole place went mental, he's definatly still got it.

Met him for the first time last week as well and can tell you he's a top bloke aswell, he confirmed he is doing midnight set at NYE united as one, can't wait
