is it like those crushed ice drinks you have in summer? or is it like lots and lots of really small bits of hail? or is it just like cold sand? how do you get around when its snowing? do your windscreen wipers stick to the glass? are you allowed to drive when its snowing? how do you see where you are going? do they really have big trucks that drive around and scrape the snow off the road? is it true that you have to drive with chains on your wheels?
Never felt snow? Man. Well I guess snow's kinda rare when you live in Australia. Best moments with snow is when you're snowboarding, it's not too cold and not too warm. Ideal temperature is around -5 degrees celsius. You're sliding down the slope with fresh powdersnow under your board. Another greatness is when you get off the sauna to chill and just dive in to a big pile of snow in the woods. Awesome feeling. Then grab a beer and feel the battle between the heat and the cold on your bare body. Maybe sounds kinda nuts but it's great! Shitty stuff is when it's really cold and snowing and then you have to go work early and you have wipe the snow off the car, then you go in and it's FREEZING and the car doesn't start. Another shitty feeling is when it's around -30 celsius and you get thrown to a pile of snow. The cold shit gets under your clothes and melts. Not that I get that feeling often but my poor little brother... And yeah, we do have snowmobiles driving around when there's a lot of snowing around
Snow is ace! It feels v.different according to the temperature, if it's 0/0+ and melting it's cold, damp, sludge, colder than 0 and it gets lovely and fluffy and crunchy to walk on. You have to experience snow, Gumby! Sweden in the winter has been my best snow exp. -20 and deep crunchy snow and sunshine!!! & sledging, cross country skiing & saunas...
Best snow I ever felt was at Accelerated Culture - Energy Flux (28/02/04) @ The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes. I danced for the whole nine hours and every time I wanted to cooldown I went outside for five minutes where it was snowing heavily. Gorgeous.
iv never seen or felt snow either..... i live 2 hrs drive from the snow fields in victoria, and have never been.... eh i want summer to return
dont worry boys england is fucked up when it comes to weather we hardly get snow either it rains, hails or we get some shitty slush but when it does come we lap it up
Lol Funny. Snow Is the Best Part Of Winter. If There Was No Snow Then There Would Be No Point Of Having Winter.
Snow can be very nice when it first falls but after a few days it's pain in the arse! And........ Snow can be very bad when your face is slammed into it when you misjudged a turn/jump/run on your board.......or skis!
for those not exsperianced when it comes to what snow feels then open your freezer , just because its not fallen out the sky doesnt mean its not the same at the end of the day snow = frozen water ? standard issue .......
I like the smell in the winter, its cool and crisp. Smoking ciggarettes & spliffs taste much different in winter. Snow has its moments, D Breakneak was right with his post above about how snow is different depending on the overall temperature. The Innuits (or natives in the arctic part of Canada have a whole bunch of words to describe snow (i think its over 20). Come to Canada for christmas some time you will enjoy it i am sure. (it gets colder in January & Febuary)
deadaelus, I am sure Canada is beautiful at all times especially winter, but people raised in Perth (me and Gumby) are basically complete fucking pussies when it comes to cold. Speaking for myself I just find myself whingeing at the end of winter, and its mild in Melbourne compared to the Northern Hemisphere winter.
when i went to scotland i wore all of the clothes in my suitcase at once. im talking, stockings, 4 pairs of socks, 2 pants, bra, singlets, tshirts, jumpers, jackets and a massive overcoat. i looked like a fat person. i am not joking. even melbourne winters are too wintery for me lol. but you havent lived unless youve built a snowman... oh the dilemma.
