I'm looking to add to my collection of plugins for my DAW and wondering what are some fantastic, great FREE VST's that people are using? What are some of the VST's or plugins that you couldn't possibly live without?

What VST's are making crazy basslines or helping you EQ or view spectrums etc....

Probably you already know of the KJAERHUS Classic plugs. Must be my most useful freeware.
MDA (short for something) have a range of basic freeware, a few of which I use quite often. Like the detune plug, which just adds stereo detune/width to whatever.
Freddymusic, a reverb plug I like a lot.
Camelphat, I just downloaded recently and think is pretty cool, just a dist/comp thing.

SIR VST is an impulse reverb plug-in. Not as modifiable as its V2 big brother but it's free. It's nothing without good impulses tho, have no idea where to get some free.

Voxengo Boogex is a mean, lean distortion machine, also using impulses. It has a few built-in, but here's more: http://www.grgr.de/IR/index.html

Then there's TAL (Togu Audio Line). They have nice dub delay plugin. And a filter that has an input drive parameter which is nice. I also use their Elek7ro synth for sub bass a lot.

And also digitalfishphones. I've never tried them and can't be arsed to... if someone tries them do tell how they fare. http://www.digitalfishphones.com/main.php?item=2&subItem=1

also try the TAL reverb, very nice sounding plate reverb. I also put down my vote again for the Kjaerhus Classic Plugins http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-series.php
The delay and auto-filter are amongst the most used plugs in my collection!

I managed to find a copy of KJAERHUS Classic plugs but can't get them to work. I think its because im using Windows 7. Anyone else ever experience this problem??

You can use the Demo-Version, Use it in a MIDI Track, and record that to an audiotrack.
You can, if you know some tricks. ;)
