What actually is Serato?!

is Serato any good? like the pitch on it, is it tight? Can u get it for Mac?

its supposed to be the best of all the digital dj setups... it costs a shitload too. yeah, its for mac too of course.

in a short explination... You have your laptop linked up to your mixer, an you have two control vinyls which control the mp3's on your laptop as if it was on the vinyl, i.e you can cue up, scratch, rewind etc... like you would with a normal vinyl.

instead of messing about doing all that sh*te why not just use good old fashined vinyl?

well serato is $$$$$$$$$$$ too (i dont have those tings^^). the cheapest set up u can get is m-audio torq, but its not as stable as serato. i know because i have torq, and i dont use it because its cumbersome w/ the set up and all and playback gets fuzzy sometimes (and im using a black 13.3 macbook thats 6 months old). if i could afford the serato rane mixer, i'd get that instead. but with the same $$ i could get a shitload of vinyls and other accesories.

Yeah all DVS (digital vinyl systems) work better on Macs.
I use Traktor scratch and I would never look back
