I got a track in progress which sounds awesome in mono (cut around 250Hz) but as I turn stereo back on the meaty low-end loses punch and clarity and track sounds like a muddy shite. Hence, the culprit must be higher frequencies. I was just kicking rocks and wondering what can I do to save the grace of my track i.e how to mix higher end? I don't have much of percussion in this track and bass is LPF-d.

Hello Quotec. Kicks, sub or anything under roughly 150Hz should be mono. You can either:

Switch the channel setting to mono as soon as you create it.

Or

If you have stereo plugins on the channel already and dont have time to switch them to mono, use a utility plugin with a mono button, and simply place it last in the chain with mono switch on.

Or

use a Mid/side processing eq on your low channel's bus mix and sweep the low end from the side only

If the low end lacks punch in stereo it's probably not to do with high end, and more to do with stereo imbalance in the low end.
