this might be a dumb question, but i just set up my technics and while i am waiting on a mixer, which i am trying to decide which one i want, i thought i would listen to my records i have. i am fimilar with alot of them and when i play em', they sound "wavy". :(
i am wondering if it is something to do with the way i have the cartridge and/or tonearm set up. (weight, no weight)i tried a few different ways, and it still sounds wavy. is it cause i don't have it grounded? (no mixer) it is almost as though the stylus is a boat on the water...you know what i mean? also, i have the one turntable plugged in temporaily to my home stereo system..which isn't seeming to work..i mean it is ULTRA quiet. i am assuming this is because the groound wire is not, well, grounded. i am wondering if that has anything to do with the sound.
ANY help will be greatly appreciated on this....
    thanks in advance
