How come the promo copies of 'Voyager' Pendulum is different to the Version that Ive heard played out for the last six months an ive had on cd? There is an additional synth, the drums seem slightly different too - Sounds phatter overall imo Pretty sure Another Planet has a different second break than ive heard b4? Anyone shed any light on why they would do this?
Didn't get a chance to grab it when it promoed last week. I find that a few tracks I buy always sound different when you get them home. Certain elements stand out more on larger systems + your always climbing in the speaker by the end of the night anyway Jay! 8O
same happened with Concord Dawn's - Reign In Blood although I reckon the dubplate's minimalism was much better than the version that got released.
Yeh the promo copies got an additional synth on it. I think its better, theyre always improvin their stuff and they obviously werent happy with the old one. Dunno about another planet sounds the same to me.
Vault was also slightly different before general release, I hear the swing beat was more prominent at the end of the tune originally. In Oz there are no dubplates (no easy cutting houses anyway), so the producer culture lends itself to tunes being adjusted, burnt to CD and played really easy. Obviously this is the same everywhere I guess ...
No dubs here either :/ Haven't had the record yet to hear it, strange because I usually get the BBK promos :/
You had on CD....or....you got from soulseek? We decided it needed toughening up. It happens. The idea of playing it out pre release is to test it. The tune needed more 'stuff', so we went back in and beefed it up. Sounds way better imo.
they did the same thing with basement track, when djs started playin it its a diff melody vocal to the version that got released. dunno why they change things, just to be diff probably
