where is everyone getting their vocal samples ??
sample packs, highly processed self recording and what not
Try sampling & processing some random acapella's , I've done it for every vocal sample I've used!
Try out this site: http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/ (no product placement , just a great site for acapella's)
All of the above.. Its handy when you know a few singers too
Very true, forgot about that (; Nothing like a completely original vocal sample
What do you do to your recorded vocal samples?
savage reverb, some echo, timestretch, more reverb, maybe an amp of some sort, some filter and eq, maybe more reverb hahahaa
i like the feeling of it being almost shouted into the mix from the background.. like a sorta dubstep time reverbing effect
Record your own / sample packs / acapella sites (old motown and soul tracks are good acapellas to use) / or if you're after good speeches to sit in the backgorund of an intro, I find youtube, search "Documentary", a great source!
Have been using this site but was just wondering if there was a 'go to' site for you all, being lazy and not actively hunting ha
Thanks, would love to know were Fred V/Grafix are raping there samples atm
check out looperman.com . warning, for every 1 good vocal there are about 100 shite ones. its all amateur people uploading shit. if you have the time its worth sifting through the shit
Yeah I'd also recommend looperman.com
If you want the better samples you must search after the best rated/most downloaded samples, the most of them are good
But take care of the ownership, some samples are not free to use for every one
So check out the description of every sample first
can get some crazy stuff there
freesound.org has quite a lot of vocal samples, gotta do a bit of hunting to find decent quality audio but there's some good stuff there
Same as above, http://www.looperman.com/acapellas and freesound are some nice places to dig. Must look for some singer friends too :°)
sample packs or youtube
i watch every movie/ series in logic. logic automatically splits the video from the audio so i just chop bits that i wanna use. i have shit loads of Dexter/ breaking bad samples :/
also you could use sunflower ...it records whats playing on youtube straight to your daw.
if you are aiming for liquid type vocals just go to whosampled.com and see what other dnb guys have used. might help get some ideas or possible artists to sample
