VIP??

Its usually just the same sounds re-edited so it sounds different to the original but you can still tell it's not a totally separate tune. Cant offer a better explanation than that, soz

Vip re(mix) = a mix of a tune that is given only to selected djs (at least at first) on dubplates, cd or by AIM (sometimes only a few copies, as in 2-5 are made). They rarely end up in wider distribution.

A dj that drops a VIP of a popular tune will count on the crowd going wild to hear this privileged version.

Vip mix = a mix of mostly vip tunes.

A VIP is pretty much what Dustek says, a remix thats only given to particular DJs and is often not sooo different from original (just enuff to tell its different). I would say if there's more than 5 copies its getting to non-VIP status.

In my opinion no vinyl release should EVER bear the title VIP, cause its clearly not a VIP if 3000+ people own it.

But thats me, and thats drum'n'bass in the new century.

check the first tune on this set for a sick VIP from the days of reality
