I was just having a mix around and tried playing my copy of messiah, but it sounded so muffled it was unplayable, even though it didn't look any more dusty than my other records. There's no scratches on it either! I need my copy of messiah to be sounding crisp!

What's a good way to go about cleaning vinyl? Hopefully all it needs is a good clean

Edit: And before anyone says...it definitely isn't the needles, every other tune sounded fine

Try giving it a good rinse in cold water, not getting the label wet. Don't use soap unless it's proper vinyl cleaning solution otherwise it could leave sediment in the grooves. Dry with a microfibre cloth and don't play until the grooves are completely dry.

If it still sounds shit just preorder Renegade Hardware XV for the repress!
